Bridging survivors, law enforcement, and communities through education, advocacy, and trauma-informed change.
My book shares stories of survival, healing, resilience, and turning pain into purpose. Through personal experience, education, and advocacy, I hope to help survivors feel less alone while encouraging professionals, including law enforcement, to better understand the lasting impact of trauma. Training Reviews
Dr. Chrissie Depre is an amazing speaker, advocate, and trainer. We had the honor of having her speak to our church and work with our team, and we were so grateful for the experience. She brought so much clarity and practical insight to some very difficult situations involving abuse and domestic violence. Her real-world experience, understanding of how the system works, and knowledge of what victims and survivors actually need were extremely valuable to our team.

Training
Dr. Chrissie specializes in trauma-informed training for first responders, bridging the gap between survivors and systems. Her sessions focus on practical tools, empathy-driven communication, and the impact of first response on a survivor’s healing and cooperation. With a background in criminal justice and lived experience as a survivor, her trainings transform understanding into action.
Trauma can affect the way a person thinks, remembers, communicates, and responds during a crisis. Training professionals to recognize these effects can help ensure that a survivor’s behavior is not mistaken for dishonesty, lack of cooperation, or indifference. A trauma-informed response focuses on safety, empathy, respect, patience, and avoiding judgment. Whether the first person a survivor encounters is a law enforcement officer, advocate, healthcare provider, or other professional, how we respond matters. That first interaction can influence whether a survivor feels safe enough to continue seeking help and engaging with available services.
Family means everything!
Dr. Chrissie brings raw honesty, heart, and hope to every stage. As a survivor, advocate, and educator, she uses her story to spark change and inspire resilience. Her presentations are real, relatable, and rooted in both lived experience and research — creating powerful moments that challenge stigma, empower survivors, and call communities to action.
Sharing your story can be one of the most powerful steps in the healing process, but it should always happen in a space where you feel safe, supported, and heard. Every survivor’s journey is different, and there is no right or wrong timeline for speaking about your experiences. In a trauma-informed environment, survivors are met with compassion, respect, and without judgment. Whether you choose to share with an advocate, counselor, trusted friend, support group, or simply within a community that understands, your voice matters. You deserve to be believed, supported, and empowered as you heal at your own pace.
“Survival is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of reclaiming your voice, your power, and your future.”
After surviving a home invasion, my life was forever changed. During one of the most frightening moments of my life, I had a positive experience with the law enforcement officers who responded. Their professionalism, compassion, and willingness to listen reminded me of the powerful role officers can play in a survivor’s healing. Today, I use that experience to help bridge the gap between survivors and law enforcement through education, advocacy, and trauma-informed training. My goal is to strengthen trust, improve responses, and help ensure that every survivor feels heard, believed, and supported.

Fear. Shame. Guilt. The worry that they won’t be believed. The questions they keep asking themselves: “Was it my fault?” “Could I have stopped it?” This picture reminds me why healing matters—and why the first response matters.
