I know it can’t just be me.
I can’t be the only one who has days where I ask myself, Is this actually worth it? Does anyone read my blog? Is anyone listening? Am I making any kind of difference, or do I just look foolish for continuing to put my heart out there?
I see other people with huge followings. Their posts are filled with likes, comments, and shares. Meanwhile, I struggle to get one like. Heck, if I’m being honest, sometimes I’m the only person who likes my own post.
And on those days, doubt gets loud.
But eventually, I remind myself why I started.
I don’t write for algorithms. I don’t write for followers. I write for the victim who feels alone. I write for the younger version of me—the girl who desperately needed someone to tell her she wasn’t crazy, that healing was possible, and that her story didn’t have to end in brokenness.
Most days, that’s enough.
But if I’m being honest… not always.
Sometimes the world feels cruel. Sometimes comparison steals my joy. Sometimes I wonder if my words are disappearing into empty space.
And maybe that’s okay.
Maybe we’re supposed to have days like this. Maybe we need the hard days so we don’t confuse social media with reality. Because social media is a highlight reel. People post the victories, the milestones, the applause. They don’t always post the moments when they question everything.
Well, I am.
Today is one of those days.
I’m not writing this because I want sympathy. I’m writing it because I want whoever is reading this to know that I’m human too. I have bad days. I question myself. I get discouraged.
But tomorrow, I’ll probably write again.
Because if one person reads these words and feels a little less alone… then maybe it was worth it all along.
