“It is wise to believe something wonderful

is about to happen”. ~Anonymous

Welcome to Surviving with Dr. Chrissie — a space where truth meets healing and survival turns into purpose. I created this platform to give voice to the stories we’re often told to silence — the ones shaped by trauma, resilience, faith, and the long road to becoming whole again. Here, we talk about real life: the hard days, the messy healing, and the moments of grace that remind us we’re still standing. Through honest conversations, survivor stories, and a little bit of humor and hope, Surviving with Dr. Chrissie is more than a podcast or a blog — it’s a community. Because surviving isn’t the end of the story; it’s where the rebuilding begins.

What Have You Done for You Lately?

As professionals, caregivers, advocates, parents, and leaders, we’re often focused on what we can do for everyone else. We pour into our work, our families, our communities, and the people who depend on us.

But here’s a question worth asking:

What have you done for you lately?

Not because you’ve earned it.
Not because everything on your to-do list is finished.
But because you matter too.

Sometimes self-care isn’t a vacation or a spa day. Sometimes it’s:
Taking a walk.
Setting a boundary.
Reading a book.
Saying no without guilt.
Making that doctor’s appointment.
Giving yourself permission to rest.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

Today, I challenge you to do one thing that nourishes your mind, body, or spirit.

What have you done for YOU lately?
