“It is wise to believe something wonderful

is about to happen”. ~Anonymous

Welcome to Surviving with Dr. Chrissie — a space where truth meets healing and survival turns into purpose. I created this platform to give voice to the stories we’re often told to silence — the ones shaped by trauma, resilience, faith, and the long road to becoming whole again. Here, we talk about real life: the hard days, the messy healing, and the moments of grace that remind us we’re still standing. Through honest conversations, survivor stories, and a little bit of humor and hope, Surviving with Dr. Chrissie is more than a podcast or a blog — it’s a community. Because surviving isn’t the end of the story; it’s where the rebuilding begins.

Driving Out the Noise

(A Healing Rant)

Let’s talk about the noise.

The opinions.
The unsolicited advice.
The “have you tried…” crowd.
The people who only know one chapter of your life but swear they understand the whole book.

And the worst noise?
The one in your own head.

The voice that says:
You should be further by now.
You shouldn’t still be triggered.
You shouldn’t still care.
You shouldn’t still hurt.

Says who?

Healing doesn’t run on anyone else’s timeline. Your timeline and Gods timeline not society’s.

Some of you are exhausted — not from trauma — but from constantly defending your growth.

Explaining your boundaries.
Justifying your peace.

Rehearsing arguments in your head that you never even say out loud.

That’s noise.

Growth gets quieter.
More focused.
Less reactive.

You don’t need to respond to everything.

I learned this the hard way.

Always reacting.

You don’t need to correct every misunderstanding.

You don’t need to explain why you changed.

It gets exhausting after a while.

You changed because you needed to and you don’t need to explain that to anybody.

That’s enough.

Driving out the noise is not about being cold.

It’s about being clear.

Clear about who gets access.
Clear about what you tolerate.
Clear about who you are now — not who you were when you were surviving.

Some people only feel comfortable with the version of you that was smaller.

That’s not your responsibility to manage.

You are not required to stay loud, chaotic, defensive, or available just to make others comfortable.

Silence the noise.
Protect your energy.
Move differently.

Not broken.
Becoming.
